Coding, Billing, and the DSM-5

Using the 2013 DSM-5 and ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-CPT guidelines, during this workshop, participants will discuss and learn coding updates. Additionally, to be covered are discussions related to credentialing of mental health professionals, outpatient billing processes for mental health therapy, and an overview of grant billing.  Participants will be given an opportunity to engage in the process, and ask questions specific to their needs.  

Educational Objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss mental illness and the disease process.
  • Discuss updates on the DSM-5/ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-CPT.
  • Examine how to integrate DSM-5/ICD-10-CM.
  • Engage in billing practices.
  • Describe process for insurance credentialing and network guidelines.
