Providing Mental Health Services for Incarcerated Individuals

This course will offer mental health providers with information regarding mental health within the prison system, which will allow them to gain skills to effectively provide mental health services for individuals within the prison system.

Educational Objectives

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the history of mental health services provided in the prison system.
  • Identify the obstacles encountered while providing mental health services in the prison system.
  • Identify the different types of incarcerated individuals who will receive your services in the prison system.
  • Utilize evidenced-based tools and techniques to discussed when providing services for individuals within the prison system.
