This course will introduce the participant to the strengths and complexities of the deaf and hard of hearing, and blind or visually impaired culture. The participants will be directed in ways of being helpful to those they may work with in the social services field.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
Identify 3 characteristics of the deaf culture.
Identify 3 ways of being helpful with persons who are blind or vision impaired.
Describe positive organization and rehabilitation settings for hearing impaired, deaf and/or blind and visually impaired individuals.
